Antoinette du Plessis Ceramic Platter
$485.00
Antoinette is originally from Pretoria but has been living in Cape Town for the past fifteen years. After a career in textile design, she now dedicates her time to ceramics, sculpture and walking.
Her vessels are mostly hand-built. In glazing she aims for surprise and visual texture. Antoinette likes to believe that her ceramics reflect her African environment, her interest in ancient artifacts, her love of drawing and her concern for the plants, birds and animals whose misfortune it is to share this planet with humans.
Adire inspired Charger
The word "adire" is a Yoruba word that means "tie and die". It's used to describe a type of indigo-dyed cloth made in southwestern Nigeria by Yoruba women using resist-dyeing techniques.
